IALHA Election News

Yes, it's already that time again: time to nominate people to serve in elected positions within the IALHA.
The Elections Committee is using a slightly different process this year, approved by the Board of Directors in May. The nominations and candidate acceptances will be handled through online Google Docs / Google Forms submissions. This means that members will be able to nominate (themselves or others) using a simple online link, reducing the chance for forms being lost in the mail or faxes not coming through.

The nomination window is now officially open!
If you are nominating someone else, you must have their nomination in by July 28.
Self-nominations continue through August 4. Candidate acceptance forms must be completed by August 11th for inclusion in this year's election.

Note: there are specific qualifications that must be met for someone to be eligible for office. For instance, to be eligible for President, Vice-President, or Treasurer, a person has to have served at least 12 consecutive months on the Board of Directors within the past two (2) years. To be eligible for Regional Director, Show Chair, Registry Board or Audit Board, a person must be a Full member and own at least one Purebred registered with the IALHA at the time of nomination. To be eligible for the At-Large Director positions, a person must be a Full member and own at least one Purebred or Half-Andalusian registered with the IALHA at the time of nomination. Please check with all people you are nominating in advance to be sure they meet the requirements for the position.
You will fill out one nomination form for EACH person you are nominating. When you are done filling out the form for the first person, you will have the chance to 'go back to the form' and fill it out again if you would like to nominate additional people. And, yes, you MAY nominate yourself!

The Elections Committee will send out e-mails to all eligible members nominated for one or more positions after the nominations window has officially closed. That e-mail will include a link to another Google Docs form, which members complete as their Candidate Acceptance Form..

2011 Working Equitation Rules

Rules for the Working Equitation division are now available for download. These will be the official rules and class specifications for the Working Equitation division at the 2011 IALHA National Championships. Other local and regional shows are encouraged to use these same rules and specifications. The rules include details on obstacle construction, patterns for the dressage phase, and scorecards.
